Mr. Jerry Ringlien, age 77, died Monday, July 30

Mr. Jerry Ringlien, age 77, of Country Club Hills Drive, Wilkesboro, beloved husband, father and grandfather died suddenly Monday, July 30, 2007 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Ringlien was born July 14, 1930 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, only child of Olger and Olga Ringlien.  He served honorably in the United States Air Force and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce.  He worked for Oscar Mayer and Company for 23 years, rising to the Vice President of Marketing.  He was President of the Armour Processed Meat Company for three years.  Before becoming an independent consultant, Mr. Ringlien held executive positions with Hanes Knitware and Holly Farms/Tyson Foods.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ringlien of the home, one daughter, Gina Ringlien of Raleigh,

one son, Bradley Ringlien of Apex, NC, and two grandchildren, Sam and Lucy of Raleigh.

The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 until 8.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those whose lives were touched by Jerry to donate to the charity organization he worked with in his later years;  The United Way, 910 C Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

Mr. James Justus Bauguess, age 81, died Tuesday, July 31

Mr. James Justus Bauguess, age 81, of State Road, passed away, Tuesday, July 31 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Sticht Center, surrounded by his family. 

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother who greatly loved his family and his church. 

                He was born on March 17, 1926 in Wilkes County, to the late William Click and Ethel Warren Bauguess.

                He was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II.  He retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company in Elkin, after 38 years of service as a loom fixer.  He was an active member of Island Ford Baptist Church in Jonesville where he served as a deacon and as choir director for more than 30 years.

                As long as his health permitted, Mr. Bauguess enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and gardening. 

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Allene Smith; one brother, Leon Bauguess; one sister, Mary Ruth Combs; and two twin sons who died at birth. 

                He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Helen Lawrence Bauguess of State Road; two sons, Wayne Bauguess and Felix Bauguess both of Traphill; one daughter, Jan Golden of Decatur, Ga.; three brothers, Holland Bauguess and wife Annie Pearl, Gayle Bauguess and wife Dot; Lindbergh Bauguess and wife Gaye; all of Traphill; one sister, Ivarene Billings of Winston-Salem; one stepdaughter, Michele Wilmoth and husband Greg of Concord; one stepson, Randy Sparks; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.

                Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 at Island Ford Baptist Church, with the Reverend Conard Hatfield officiating.  The body will lie instate 1:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. 

                The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.  Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to Island Ford Baptist Church in Jonesville.

Larnie Sim Bullis, 80, of Greensboro died Monday, July 30, 2007

Larnie Sim Bullis, 80, of Greensboro died Monday, July 30, 2007 at Hospice of Greensboro’s Beacon Place.

 

Funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2007 at George Brothers Funeral Service Chapel.

Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Lamie is preceded in death by his wife, Wyona.

Mr. Bullis retired from Owens-Illinois, Inc.  He was a member of Family Harvest Outreach.

H is survived by three children, Anthony Bullis and Gloria of Greensboro; Loretta Nance and husband, Richard of Greenville, SC; and Kevin Bullis; four grandchildren, Lori Bergstrom, Steven Bullis, Darrel Nance, and Dean Nance; along with six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.

 

 

 

Bobby Joe Hodges, age 51, died Wednesday, July 25

Bobby Joe Hodges, 51, of North Wilkesboro, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 25, 2007.

He was born November 11, 1955 in Richlands, Va., a son of the late Clarence Alexander Hodges and Charlotte Geneva Justice Hodges. He was a welder in the automotive industry and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: daughters, Hope Duncan and Crystal Shaffner, both of Millers Creek; son, Joseph Lee Hodges of North Wilkesboro; sister, Linda Harris of Raleigh; brothers, Jimmy Hodges of Carrollton, Va., and Jonny Hodges of Smithfield, Va.

No funeral services are planned at this time.

Miss Cordie Suzanne Haynes, age 89, died Saturday, July 28

Miss Cordie Suzanne Haynes, age 89, of Browntown Road, Millers Creek died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at her home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Boyce Cleary officiating.  Burial was in the Burke Cemetery.

Miss Haynes was born June 5, 1918 in Wilkes County to Philmore and Ida Hall Haynes.  She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by three nephews and five nieces.

Mr. Nathan Dean McGee, age 48, died Tuesday, July 24

Mr. Nathan Dean McGee, age 48, of Champion Mt. Pleasant road, Ferguson died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Reach Center with the Rev. Kevin Brown and Dr. Dean Simpson officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. McGee was born September 16, 1958 in Randolph County to Edwin Harold and Ivo Dean Eller McGee.  He was a computer analyst for Lowe’s Companies and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church

He is survived by: one son, Jamie Nathaniel McGee of Wilkesboro; two sisters, Karen McNeil and husband, Donald of Wilkesboro, Rosey Harbert and husband, Bruce of Taylorsville and one brother, Sherwin McGee and wife, Jill of Ferguson.

Edwin Lee Kyle, 54, of Raleigh, passed away Tuesday, July 24

Edwin Lee Kyle, 54, of Raleigh, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Wake Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He began his earthly life June 5, 1953 in Galax, Va., a son of the late Fitzhugh Kyle and Ollie Goins Kyle. He was of the Baptist faith. On Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 11:17 a.m. God knew Edwin was tired and needed rest and whispered, come with me. He went into eternity without a glimpse or word of goodbye, making his stay on earth 54 years, one month and 19 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by foster parents, Ray and Elsie Goins Hamilton and two brothers, George and Isaiah Kyle.

Edwin leaves behind a son, Christopher Welborne of Philadelphia, Pa; a daughter, Daphine Gray of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters, Tracy Kyle and Linda Redmon and husband, Elvis, all of Wilkesboro, Margaret Saunders and husband, Chris, of Galax, Va., and Lillie Kyle of North Wilkesboro; four brothers, Daniel Kyle of Orange, Calif., Ezra Kyle, Chester Kyle and Abraham Kyle, all of North Wilkesboro. He also leaves behind eight nieces, seven nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted  Saturday, July 28, 2007 in the chapel of Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes. Revs. Rick Hayes and Jimmy Hayes officiated.

The family requests no flowers. Contributions may be made to the Edwin Lee Kyle Fund, 55 Boone Trail, North Wilkesboro, N.C., 28659.

Mrs. Edna Lee Wright, age 78, died Monday, July 23

Mrs. Edna Lee Wright, age 78, of Fishing Creek Road, North Wilkesboro, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Wilkes Senior Village. Mrs. Wright was born May 30, 1929 in Wilkes County to Ransom E. and Connie Lee Parker Minton. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was a Primary teacher. She was a retired teachers assistant at C.C. Wright School, and a member of the Relief Society.

            Surviving are three sons, Wayne Ronald Wright and wife Suzanne of North Wilkesboro, Gary Micah Wright  and wife Corliss of Harmony, Terry Curtis Wright and wife Jackie of North Wilkesboro; one brother, Sonny Minton of Millers Creek; two sisters, Darcie Call, Sylvia Prevettte both of North Wilkesboro; and four grandsons.

            Funeral services were held last Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Tim Marlow, Bishop Steve Woodard, and Second Councilor Keith Ball. Burial was in the church cemetery on Balls Mill Road.

                Miller Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

 

 

 

Mr. Jerry Eugene Milam, age 60, died Thursday, July 26

Mr. Jerry Eugene Milam, age 60, of H Street, North Wilkesboro, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Davis Memorial Hospital. Mr. Milam was born December 13, 1946 in Wilkes County to Paul and Hazella Pierce Milam. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Milam and a brother, Edward Milam.

            Surviving is one daughter, Lisa Milam Shumaker and husband Rodney of North Wilkesboro; two brothers, Frank Milam and wife Pauline, Randy Rhodes and wife Kathy, all of Millers Creek; and three grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held  Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Wellborn and the Rev. Dean Rector officiating. Burial was in Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Miller Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

 

 

 

 

Rev. Jonathan Matthew Hinson, Mrs. Bayley Anderson Hinson, and

Baby Nathaniel Paul Hinson

Rev. Jonathan Matthew Hinson, age 27 and Mrs. Bayley Quinn Anderson Hinson, age 26, and baby Nathaniel Paul Hinson of US Hwy. 21 passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Yadkin County.  Rev. Hinson was born June 25, 1980 in Surry County to Kelly Timothy & Wilma Jean Anders Hinson.  Bayley was born June 28, 1981 in Yadkin County to James Grover & Paula Mounce Anderson. 

                Matthew & Bayley was both a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where he was the Youth Minister.  Matt was currently attending Gardner Webb University and was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Institute.  Bayley was pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and was a coach with the Team Kid Program, Ladies Ministries and Prayer Group.  Matthew was preceded in death by his Paternal Grand Parents Kelly& Eunice Hinson; his maternal grandparents, Walt & Ruth Anders.  Bayley was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather, Paul Mounce; paternal grandparents, William & Georgia Anderson; two uncles, Jerry Mounce and Eddie Anderson.

                Matthew’s survivors include: his father and mother, Tim & Jeanie Hinson of State Road; brother, Jason Hinson and wife Angie of Dobson; a niece Hope Hinson; nephew, Luke Hinson, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

                Bayley’s survivors include: her father and mother, James G. & Paula M. Anderson of State Road; her brother, Preston Anderson and his fiancée Cassa Cheek of State Road; maternal grandmother, Beatrice Mounce of  State Road; special uncle Alan Anderson and wife Deann of Rockingham; a niece Georgia Grace Anderson.

                Funeral services were held Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Kramm, Rev. Brad Threat, Rev. Finley McCoury, Rev. Kenny Wood, Rev. Roger Cook, Rev. Marty Nixon, Rev. Cliff Henson and Rev. Mickey Brooks .  Burial followed in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.  Matt & Bayley will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

                In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child or to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
