Rotary bearing is a kind of large bearing with special structure, which can bear large axial load, radial load and overturning moment at the same time. It has many functions, such as supporting, rotating, driving, fixing and so on. Therefore, when installing the rotary bearing, we must do a good job of correlation checking, or the matters needing attention in the installation. For such large bearing, we must do a good job of maintenance, storage and other work, so as to avoid the following damage of the rotary bearing, leading to the normal use.

1. Installation of rotary bearing

Before the installation of the rotary bearing, the installation surface of the main engine should be inspected, and the supporting parts should have enough strength, the connection surface should be machined, and the surface should be smooth and free of debris and burrs. Special plastics with high injection strength can be used as fillers to ensure the accuracy of the mounting plane and to reduce vibration if the required flatness can not be achieved by mechanical processing. The ring of rotary bearing has quenched soft belt area, which should be placed in non-load area or non-constant load area when installed (plug hole is always located in soft belt area).

When installing rotary bearings, the radial positioning should be carried out first, the installation bolts should be tightened cross-wise, and the rotation of bearings should be checked. When tightening the bolt, there should be sufficient preload, which should be 70% of the yield limit of the bolt material. Installation bolts should be equipped with conditioned flat washers and spring washers are strictly prohibited.

2. Maintenance of rotary bearings

After 100 hours of continuous operation, the pre-tightening moment of the bolt should be checked thoroughly, and the above checks should be repeated every 500 hours of continuous operation. Rotary disk bearings should be filled with appropriate amount of grease after installation, and should be filled with side rotary bearings to make the grease evenly distributed. After working for a period of time, it is inevitable that a part of the grease will be lost. Therefore, the grease should be added once every 50-100 hours after the normal operation of the rotary bearing.

3. Transportation and Storage of Rotary Bearings

Bearings should be placed horizontally on vehicles during transportation, measures should be taken to prevent sliding and vibration, and auxiliary support should be added when necessary.
